Private school

I have been trying to get my son into private school he is due to go to year 7 this year and I really do not want him in state school, however he failed llandaff so then we tried St John’s however his assessment from there still came back weak. They have given us another chance for him to sit the assessment in July so we are now spending a fortune on tuition. Anyone have advice on St John’s and what is the possibility of them accepting him even if his test is still not up to standard ? We have asked if they would take him on a trial basis if we kept up the tuition 🙏

100 percent spot on you should say that we think my son has ADHD he lacks concentration , fidgets, cannot keep still. The school will not do anything because he has no behaviour issues. His dad has ADHD so we are 90% sure he has it too. We had a memory test done on him which came back with a very low speed processing score and a low working memory.

Low working memory and processing scores are typical executive function issues, associated with ADHD.
His current school is totally wrong in not putting support in place - they are ALN and as such he will qualify for access arrangements and reasonable adjustments, such as extra time in public exams.

I disagree with the sentiment that schools can’t change “ who they are”.
My DD has ADHD and was all but written of when diagnosed, but is about to take A levels, with predicted grades of AAB and offers of places at RG universities. Both her secondary school and her 6th form were instrumental in helping her reach her full potential, by supporting her ALN.
