Eighth year of schooling in Scotland, though I think it's still generally written as P1 - P7, then S1 - S6.

It's very confusing for those of us who left Primary school then went into the '1st Form'

onlygirlinthehouse · 30/12/2007 01:13

yr 7 is first yr of secondary school

discoverlife · 30/12/2007 01:17

Year 7. DS2 is still in primary and he is in year 6.

Scotland
Primary P1-P7
Secondary S1 onwards

Sorry didn't want to be left out.

some independent schools take kids in y6 as well as y7 just to confuse the picture (although they're technically still in primary school...)

LIZS · 30/12/2007 18:37

Year 7 (Junior to Senior) or sometimes 8 or 9 if the LEA operates Middle schools or private Prep

mumeeee · 30/12/2007 18:50

Year 7

Blandmum · 30/12/2007 18:53

In england and wales year 7

Year 10 they start their 2 years of GCSE study.

Years 12 and 13 are still called the Sixth Form
