Is it "Year 6" or "Year 7" when you start the Secondary school??

as i thought it was 6 but dp is saying 7

i may be wrong but unsure!

Yep.. you finish primary in year 6 and go into year 7 at secondary...

Eighth year of schooling in Scotland, though I think it's still generally written as P1 - P7, then S1 - S6.

It's very confusing for those of us who left Primary school then went into the '1st Form'

yr 7 is first yr of secondary school

Year 7. DS2 is still in primary and he is in year 6.

some independent schools take kids in y6 as well as y7 just to confuse the picture (although they're technically still in primary school...)

Year 7 (Junior to Senior) or sometimes 8 or 9 if the LEA operates Middle schools or private Prep

Year 10 they start their 2 years of GCSE study.

Years 12 and 13 are still called the Sixth Form
