APS vs fortismere muswell hill English department

Does anyone know anything about the English teachers/ department at these schools. I’m trying to decide which to put down and my daughter is especially strong in English/ writing so I think that would be the decider for me. She brought overall but definitely needs more support and patience with her maths and science. I’d really just like somewhere where her writing could flourish though as that seems to be her passion.

If anything you want good maths and science departments! I would look at how they set those subjects. I have children at 2 different secondaries and I prefer the set up of one of the schools (they set maths only in y8 into 3 groups). Other son's school is set from Xmas y7 into 6 groups and people get all obsessed about the sets and "I'm not clever if I'm in set 3" etc. Most average kids do better without sets. This school do not set English at all and both my kids are absolutely flying. There's not a huge amount of creative writing in Secondary English though, sadly. Mostly analysis.

Can you definitely get into both? There are very few roads that allow you a choice between those two schools because the catchments are so tiny.
