Latymer Grammar GL assessment number of questions

Hi,

Sorry if this has been answered somewhere but I couldn't find it anywhere that gave me the definitive answer.

Do you know how many questions there are in GL assessment test for Latymer Grammar School? It seems that they have maths and verbal reasoning combined into one paper to be completed in 60 mins, but how many questions are in the test for maths and VR each?

The only answer I found led me to a website called "Visuteach" that sells some exam GL sample tests, and their wording makes it sound as if they are the official GL test provider to Latymer but I don't know if they are, so I can't take the information on their website as the answer that I am looking for.

They use the GL tests for Maths and VR. IIRC the Maths is 50 questions in 30 minutes and the VR is 80 questions in 30 minutes. They set their own English paper, which is another hour with comprehension questions and creative writing.

The GL tests are widely available, not just from the site you mention.

Hi thanks for your reply. I don't think that's completely right. I did get the "official" GL assessment test packs, and yes they have 80 questions for VR and 50 questions for maths, but each are for 50 mins, not 30 mins each, so 1 hour and 40 mins in total. But given that Latymer exam is for one hour, with two topics combined into one exam, I am guessing they are not going to give 80 questions and 50 questions. That will be way too many for the children to do in one hour.

So I am guessing the number of questions will be reduced to about 25 maths and 30-40 VR, but I wondered whether anyone had the exact number.

I have a feeling it is 30 for Maths and 40 for VR, now that you say that. I don't think any of the kids I knew taking it managed to finish the Maths part.

No idea about Latymer but when DC sat using GL all the sample and practice papers had been so many Questions in 50 mins. On day they changed it up to more in reading?
Well worth explaining and telling child to check and pace accordingly.
