Any exam officers/ HOD or Deputy Heads about?

My daughters center appeal was upheld today. School had recorded the ring grade in her evidence poll. School are now asking the exam board to up the grade.

Any exam officers about?
Any idea on exam board timescales to turn this around?

I am presuming because it’s a TAG that the school had free reign to assess / award there shouldn’t be an issue.

Anyone any ideas?

Cheers

Hi,

I replied on the other thread too, but it’s by 8th Sept if it’s priority (to meet UCAS’ deadline) and 42 days from the school submitting it if it’s not priority.

No one really knows how long it’ll take as we’ve never done it before. However, we appealed a couple of CAGs on the same grounds last year (a teacher realised they’d made a mistake and asked us to change it) and it was all sorted by the end of September. Given that this year exam boards have a special portal for schools who want to report their own administrative errors, my guess would be that it’ll be slightly quicker this year.

EO here. Colleagues have been reporting the turnaround varies by exam board. I’ve seen mentions of 48hours to ‘still waiting’ but if not think it will be long if the school has upheld the stage one appeal.

It effectively just an admin error that needs updating.

“But I’d not think it would be long” that should say.

Thank you. It’s a move from a 6 to a 7 grade.

I’m worried Edexcel won’t accept it or is it literally just a case of them rubber stamping it ?

Thanks for your advice x

Pearson Edexcel are normally helpful. It should just be a case of updating their end. Then they’ll either send the updated result by to the school who can import it and print off an updated results slip. It’s just admin time really made more difficult if the school staff are term time or not.

Thank you. Hopefully it won’t be too long before it’s sorted.

All the best
