Size 10.5+ boys school shoes with non-slip soles?

DS (14) is now size 10.5 so has outgrown Clarks school shoes. We've been looking at their adult shoes and also M&S mens' shoes. We've bought and returned 2 pairs because they had relatively smooth soles which slid (and in one case also squeaked) on our wooden floor at home. They may be ok for adult office wear, but DS needs something he can run around in safely and comfortably. Any recommendations for a particular style that works for active teens?

We had some of these which lasted well. We also had some other kangol which didn't have the logo on if that's an issue for school uniform.

Clarks Cotrell Edge worked okay for us

Just get them re soled with rubber soles? DS is size 11 and wears Clark’s men’s lace up shoes and we had to get them resoled. They last for ages then.

Start rite do larger sizes - this year's pair lasted the full year.

As DS has wide feet we found that Clark’s men’s black leather trainers worked well. They had a black sole and nobody spotted that they were trainers.

DS had school shoes from Ascent. They only go up to size 10 but come up big so size 10 fitted him even though he’s size 11 normally. He had them in year 7 - a 14 year may not be so keen on them- very school like!

Treads shoes. Absolutely brilliant. Shoes last years once they are at the not growing out if them stage. Up to size 11.
Can't recommend them highly enough. Wish I'd heard of them years ago, wasted so much money on Clarkes through primary.

I would second Treads.
