Dear all,

I am looking to live in Ipswich town centre and I work in the City of London. May I hear your advice if this is practical? I plan to go to work by train and I work in office three days a week. Understand the train takes 70 minutes one way from Ipswich to Liverpool Street.

Just wondering if you can share your precious experience.

Regards,

I commuted from Cambridge to London daily for 10 years. Door to door took 2 hours 15 minutes.

It was fine for me. You find ways to make the journey into useful time.

Thing to consider is the cost of the commute, overall journey time door to door and how reliable the route is - if the route isn't operating/long delays how tolerant would your employer be? Tends to be more of an issue in winter.
