Chelmsford County High School for girls: Hearing lot of negative feedbacks

Hello, I would really appreciate if parents of students currently in the school can comment. Hearing lot of negatives including: Very slow response of staff in time of concerns, Science and maths teachers not delivering. Also exclusion of DT not creating any positive image or helping either. I know they have a new head teacher. Is he creating any positive impact at all?

I do not have any kid in the school so cannot comment. But could not read and run. I know there are a lot of schools who depend on high ability kids and ambitious families to maintain their results and ranks.
Hope you get your answers soon :-)

Sorry not at the school, maybe try the 11 plus forum, lots of grammar school Mums on there. The results of CCHS are excellent though, some children at very selective grammars are heavily tutored to get in and need it throughout.

I think staff at all schools have been under a lot of pressure recently due to covid testing / chaos in GCSEs and A levels and on-off schooling so slower responses is fairly standard.

DD is at CCHS. The school have generally responded quickly and effectively to issues we have raised and we are very happy with the education DD has received to date. The lack of DT is not great but probably reflects the subjects most families prioritize. The new HT is definitely improving the ethos of the school (better communication, more caring and less intimidating than the previous HT) and his leadership during the last year has been excellent in comparison to other schools that I have experience of in Essex.

Good to know that new HT is bringing in positive changes. Can I ask how are the clubs? Is the school keen on extra curricular?
