I’m looking for a high school for my son. I am confused between Twford Church of England school (william Perkins)and Whitmore high school. Both of them will require us to relocate but I’m not sure which one is worth taking this step. Please guide me

What age is your son? Why have you fixated on two schools some miles apart and for both of which you would have to move? Are there really no schools at all in the borough in which you currently live? You usually have to put 6 schools on the London PAN application - you cannot just put one and hope that that makes the council let you have a place. Some people do that every year and are horrified when the council puts them in a school they didn’t want so you must put well-thought out choices rather than just one.

I don’t know the other school but William Perkins gives 80 of its places to children at 3 specified local primary schools leaving the other 120 to be allocated to looked-after children, siblings and on distance so you will need to check the distance measurements when they are announced after the 2021 allocation next week, to know how close you have to live to stand a chance of getting in.

Many thanks. I live in Harrow. These two schools are closer to me but their catchment area is very small. I live in the middle of both. Rest of the schools are not outstanding schools and I have not got good reviews about them from parents.
