My already struggling teenager is devasted. He has SEN issues and has battled on through with little pastoral support apart from the odd Zoom call. We've been helping him at home and it's only underlined how some ongoing problems (related to SEN) were being neglected before lockdown despite requests for help. He sometimes struggles with ongoing assessments but shines in exams. Cancelling them has been the final nail in the coffin. Just a bare announcement with no clue as to what happens next. He's convinced he's going to 'fail' the assessments. No idea what to do or say; my reserve optimism tank has been empty for a while. And it's not just him; the majority of his classmates' parents are reporting that their DC are struggling too - just getting them out of bed to sit in front of a screen has become a daily battle. No exams =. no point as far as they're concerned. Utter crapshow
