Come at me with your pros and cons ...
Bright daughter, wants more academic challenge than where she is (in a day school Essex), what is each of these schools really like from the inside?
And I am happy to relocate to give her the choice either way.

Which is her preference?knowing her personality & strengths where is she most suited?
Pragmatically will you get suitable work, accomodation in both locations
She’ll make friends and settle into school routine, will you be Ok?

Hi S&C (great name!), she has through no doing of her own, moved school a great deal, so she's adaptable ... trouble is we haven't been able to visit either with covid so have had to go on some prior knowledge and websites ... wondering what anyone might know from the inside about either.
She will thrive in the academic environment at Perse, and have a more 'normal' day to day existence in a day school yet has always had a curiosity about Bedales and the quirky liberal arts learning for life thing is appealing, plus there's the boarding to consider. She's in for scholarships at both and we find out in a couple of weeks but meanwhile I just wanted to get some soft data ...

Oh, and I'm happy to relocate anywhere - it's her time and I will be fine ... thanks though for the consideration!!

How exciting, clearly she’s very clever. I wish you both well. It’s a great opportunity

If she wants a more academic challenge The Perse is definitely the right place for her.

Thank you! her dad worries it might be too much of a hot house without much else than exam results ... I'd like to think and hear not ...

Does anyone have personal experience of the Perse for a bright articulate but also pretty unnerdy girl?

Hi 4
They're both lovely schools but I agree - very different approaches to learning.
My youngest is at Bedales and we chose it because we were looking for something different, something super-creative for a child that needed more than other schools seemed to be offering.
Bedales is extraordinary. We have children at other schools that we also love - it isn't the right choice for everyone - but for the right child, Bedales can't be bettered. Do DM me if you'd like more info.
