I think I’ve fucked up. (COVID related)

I’m cover manager. Had supply for the week and I noticed she was wearing a sunflower lanyard. No excuse, but I’ve been mad busy and it didn’t really click that she wasn’t wearing any ppe in school. Yesterday I emailed her agency to ask if they knew she wasn’t-they didn’t. She’s been in three days. I’m now bricking it as due to another incident, slt know she wasn’t. I’m in for a blocking aren’t I?

Why would you be in for it? I don't wear any ppe in school (TA) and neither does one of my teacher friends who's doing supply teaching in various schools

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you think you have done wrong? If she is exempt, surely you just accept that as if it's any other reasonable adaptation?

School bursar here
I don't think you've done anything wrong. The agency should be aware she is classing herself as exempt from wearing PPE and should have risk assessed accordingly. You've just highlighted that. I don't think there is anything wrong as your trying to make sure school and safe are safe.

That should read school is safe and staff are safe!!

Spoke to my line manager and he agreed that it was a difficult choice, a fine line between discrimination and health and safety requirements but h&s in this case wins out.
