Hi I am moving to Greasby in Wirral and am looking at schools for my 14 year old son.I have discounted the grammar schools and these 2 seem close by. Can anyone advise me please? Thanks in advance

It is not Preston High but Neston High. From Greasby the obvious secondary school is Hilbre High if you discount the grammar schools.
The issue you will have is that Hilbre is well thought of and full, so you would have to go to appeal probably to attempt to get a place. Neston High is not a Wirral school but a Cheshire West and Chester School and is equally well thought of, especially for pastoral care of its pupils. Again the issue is it is full, with a PAN of 300 per year group. Living in Greasby you would also be further away than most pupils would travel to go to Neston High.
On the Wirral the other main secondary schools that you might consider, would be Woodchurch High (which again is a very well thought of school), Ridgeway and Pensby High.

Hi I think you meant Pensby high
Hilbre would be the more natural choice for that location. It wasn't doing great a number of years ago but has turned itself around the last few years. My daughter went to a grammar school but Hilbre was our non grammar school choice
