Hi all,

I have a DS in yr 5 and we weren't been able to to visit all the schools on our long list before the lockdown. Just starting a thread to discuss boys/ coed schools in this area in general.

Our list so far is
Kingston Grammar
Reeds
St Georges
Claremont
Halliford

DS is above average - sort of bottom of the top group type - equally good at English and Maths. Loves sport but doesn't play at county or competitive level or anything.

Any chat/ opinions welcome!

Did you visit Hampton ?

Knows several boys going this year, who fit your DS description.

Hi! Actually I visited Hampton, it’s very impressive and close to us. I thought it was really academic though and for boys who are absolutely at the top of the class?

If you are close I would definitely try and include it as an aspirational choice.
Yes it’s academic , but as long as you include a couple of “realistic” schools and a “banker”school, I would put in on the list.

Have you thought of KCS Wimbledon? That's a good academic school for boys but is also very well rounded and nurturing.

Do you have any idea where your child sits on the academic spectrum - what kind of school is he at now (prep, state?)

You have on that list a very wide academic range of schools....

KingscoteStaff · 13/05/2020 07:51

That’s a very wide range!

What about SJL or Epsom College?
