Dear All, My DS has been offered 11+ at Kings and City , feeling grateful.I would greatly appreciate some kind advice on helping us to choose between the schools please. DS likes both schools ,He is outgoing and sporty .I am not finding much information especially regarding city , so would be thankful for any valuable inputs.Thank you.

In London terms, they could scarcely be farther apart geographically! Go for whichever is closer. Or decide on the basis of whether you prefer a more 'urban' or 'semi-rural' feel!

City's games pitches are miles away in SE London. Worth considering...

Kings all the way I would say. We turned down Kings in favour of another school but with that choice I would favour Kings. We didn’t apply to City because I found both the boys and staff and admin at City of London very arrogant and unhelpful. I was concerned about travel into City worry In current climate and the lack of sports grounds on site put me off. Both will give you excellent educations and if your son has got into both he will do well at either academically . It’s the travel; extracurricular etc that should sway it.

Thank you all for your kind input. I agree with the travel and sports, that becomes the major deciding factor .Not sure about the behaviour of boys as on open day we found city boys more engaging and generally a happier bunch .We will attend the offer day and take a call.Thanks again.

Both my dss went to CLS. They are v different and both loved it. It is very diverse and the teaching and leadership are great. The new head is very well regarded. Both my boys did extremely well there.

@NoCureForLove
Thank you, that's very encouraging to hear. How did they find the commute to City?

Where do you live? Boys from both come from a wide area however City has boys from both north and south which increases the spread. Kings is predominantly Sw/west London and Surrey.

Totally agree with @wobbles21 - we hated City but loved Kings. I'm surprised you don't favour one over the other as they are so very different.

I didn't want DS on the tube every day if I could help it, and hated City's cramped campus, the attitude of the staff we met, and the general pallor of the boys. Kings was the opposite on every level.

Given how different they are and how far apart they are, I am really surprised you are stuck between the two.

@wobbles21 @Growingboys Just PM you both with some additional questions, would be grateful for a response. Thanks!
