Hi there. New to this. There is a chain back in 2015 on this subject but anyone with current experience? DD loved EC show round and the thought of all the independence so much less keen on HW. We are currently at an Indie School around an hour away so want something more local. She’s disorganised and addicted to Social Media . Very worried that post GCSE’s her grades will drop off going to EC. Of course when she goes to Uni down to her but want her to be happy but at the same time want decent results. We have given her a challenge to get organised & show us she’s ready but sadly not proved very successful so far!

I have attched the A level results for Surrey from the govt league tables. If you ignore the Independent schools at the top of the table which are all selective then HW is right up there for results alongside and with near identical results to a few RC schools, which many would also classify as selective (juggling theory). Esher also has great results for a 6th form college but it sounds like your DD would suit a school better and this is one of the best comprehensive schools in Surrey. DD has a friend who moved to HW from a very selective school and she is very happy and very impressed with the teaching etc. And if I remember correctly HW had no dress code at 6th form and a turn up when there's a lesson policy so it could be a great compromise for you both.

All teengers are addicted to social media don't take it personally.

Thanks @cakeisalwaystheanswer so much for taking the time to reply and I hadn't even looked at those tables but that's a brilliant way to look at it for us. Yes from a parents perspective that's where we think is most suitable in the circumstances. I love your nickname btw - it is always the answer for me too. xx
