MacBook Pro for GCSE

Does anyone know if a MacBook Pro will be a good laptop to use for GCSE years?

I’m clueless on this but DD is into photography so know it’s good for that but wondering if it’s good as an all round laptop for the GCSE years too?

I’ve tried googling but it’s all so technical. I’d love to hear from any parents whose DC have used a MacBook Pro during GCSE courses or hear if any other laptop recommendations.

Thank you all for the advice. Do any of the more expert posters on here know when the Pro 13 is due to get its keyboard issues fixed like the 16 has?

With this being an inheritance it might be into next year before it’s settled so waiting for the new 13 might be a good compromise.

Unfortunately Apple tend to be very tight lipped about product release plans. Usually there's about a year between them, and the 13" was last updated May/July this year depending on configuration

For what it's worth, they've mitigated the keyboard issues since I got mine, there is now a dust membrane. They also have a repair programme for I think 4 years from date of release for each model with this keyboard

Another thing to bear in mind and echoed by a PP is that Apple do a trade in scheme. So if your DD keeps her mac in good nick she can offset some of the cost of an upgrade in the future. Details on Apple website.
