I went to see it today. Loved the facilities (what a contrast to the central London schools! Smile). Unfortunately, it seems the head only does a talk at the main open day in September. So, aside from the facilities, does anyone have recent experience of the teaching/pastoral side of the school? What the heart of their vision, if you like, is? Thanks in advance!

My daughter might have gone there but went to Habs. Someone who is there now can answer better but I think it is a very good school. Our girls went to Habs and NLCS resepectively as we thought those were better but St Helen's is pretty good too. May be it is slightly easier to get into than NLCS and Habs too. We always felt the schools choose the pupils not vice versa for the best schools, as there is so much competition for places.

Thanks Xenia. I’ll hold my breath and see if someone can shed some current light Smile!

My daughter has been at the school since year 7 and has thrived there. Teaching has been fantastic and pastoral support phenomenal. I would not hesitate to recommend. There is a new head this year but so far it feels like 'business as usual'. There is a strong body so I have no concerns that the ethos of the school will change.

Thank you getmeoutofhere. We live in zone 2 (just) and easy to get to metropolitan line. Are you aware of many girls travelling from this direction?

I'm not overly sure. The network for the coaches is extensive though so they have girls from a wide area. The coaches go to Wembley area, so I there will be girls from round there and perhaps further down the met line.
