Indestructible shoes for large v active feet...

Help!!

Ds 15 thrashes his shoes. He plays some form of sport on the playground every lunch, they're not allowed to wear trainers Hmm. His last pair of shoes from Next - an emergency purchase as we noticed holes in the sole he hadn't mentioned - lasted just 5 weeks. He also has wide size 11 feet which are better in a 12...

I'm thinking DMs, but they're so expensive - has anyone else has this problem and found a reasonably priced, seriously robust, boat-shaped/sized shoe???

(His trousers are another matter too... Hmm Grin)

Treads shoes were amazing for ds but he’s now a 12 and they stop at an 11

DMs totally worth it plus come with a years guarantee...keep the receipt and if he trashes them they will replace (I’ve done it)

Maladicta · 17/08/2019 18:20

Thanks so much for the suggestions, the Nisbets website is amazing.

So anyone come across indestructible trousers too? His repairs when they've split have been interesting...

He's doing Engineering and wore these for a couple of days without mentioning before I stuck them in the washing machine which thankfully survived....Hmm

Treads have a 12 math guarantee too, I didn’t realise dms do! That’s great news as they’re likely to fit ds who’s a 12!

Can I jump in and ask a similar question but for size 8 very narrow feet? Not sure if any of the above would suit? Many thanks

helpmum2003 · 17/08/2019 18:34

Treads website looks amazing; same price as Clarks but 12 month guarantee... Will give them a try...

Start rite (rhino) Dylan go up to large sizes and come in e/f/g/h width fittings

AmateurSwami · 17/08/2019 18:42

@helpmum2003 I definitely rate them

Maladicta · 28/08/2019 21:33

Thanks for your advice. His Treads turned up today so we’ll see how long they last 😁

For thin size 8 feet we've ended up with Clark's men's shoes which are pretty narrow but will not wear well in the playground :(
Tried start rite Dylan rhino but even in an E fitting were huge in width. The Treads measuring system couldn't cope with the narrow width measurement either.
Very disappointed: Dylan and Treads look great.....
