Music Aptitude Test entrance exam

Hi

Does your child have to be at a certain grade to pass the music aptitude test? He has to do a listening assessment and a performance assessment.

Just trying to figure out what piece he would like to play as I dont want it too simple or too complicated!

No, aptitude test does not involve performance but is a bit like the aural part of grade exams ... how many notes can you hear/higher or lower etc. Standard varies wildly between schools but a lower grade piece played well is better than higher played badly. And unusual instruments often win the day. Good luck!
