Aspiring medic- sixth form options SW London indie or state

Hi everyone my DD is hoping to go to medical school. She is currently in year 10 at our excellent local school. We are looking at sixth form options as she is keen for a change. Her school has a relatively new sixth form and and we would prefer a long track record of successful medical school applications. She would prefer coed and not too far from Richmond due to early morning sport commitment. We have/are looking at KGS, LEH, Twyford CoE, Gunnersbury, and will look at Latymer too. Can anyone advise what we should be looking for? What they were pleased their child’s school offered to support medical applications or what they wished they had offered? Whether they have views on state vs indie applications- the figures are pretty starkly in favour of independent schools according to Sutton trust. Any advice or shared experience appreciated. Thanks.

What about Kings Wimbledon. A number of Dds cohort from top all girls are moving there.
Westminster- is that too far? Tiffin?

Thanks Arewedone, yes we will look at Tiffin both boys and girls (although she would prefer coed), Kings is a good idea although slightly trickier to get to - we are in Kew. Westminster on district line might be easier!

Tiffin School (boys) is taking girls in the 6th form this year. Only about 40 but definitely worth a look.

@Sparkler20191 - DS1 is at Kings in Year 12 and I couldn't recommend it more for 6th Form. He is doing STEM A Levels but not applying for medicine. Teaching is excellent but guidance on uni applications is superb.

DD is Year 10 and thinking about medicine. She's applying for the 6th Form at Kings because of the superior STEM offering, particularly maths. Exam is in November and you'll need to register by October.

We know plenty of families from Richmond at the school.

Thanks so much I'll look at Kings and Tiffin too, is there anything that is particularly helpful to look out for? Anyone know medics who went to a Esher? It's a bit far but wondering if might be worth it

@Sparkler20191 - our after school nanny went to Esher is now a Dr so that's possible. It's a very popular choice and benefits from a huge rang of subjects. Very big though.

Thanks sandey! I think we will go check it out Monday,
wondering if anyone knows what "extras" we should look out for? bMat prep that kind of thing?

Sutton Grammar School is super hot on STEM subjects. They take girls in the 6th Form now too.
