After two long years the clock is finally ticking and we are on countdown to Common Entrance...just wondered if there was a support group this year?

Latin and Greek and then done. DC was rather grey faced after yesterday - he doesn't have the greatest stamina - so the cunning last minute double vocab review didn't happen. Hey ho!

We are done.... Yay!
Not sure that the way it is carried out is going to get the best out of them but at least all in the same boat.
Have a fantastic... Relaxed.... Non revision weekend!

Well done all the children! Phew!
Just spotted on Twitter that DS is at the beach with his class having ice-cream then he’s going to a party. Home at 10, no idea where he’s getting the energy from!

Also just had an email from senior school Admissions welcoming DS and confirming which boarding house he’ll be in. They’re quick off the mark, guess he’s definitely in then!

That's a lovely touch by the senior school @Innisfree . Enjoy celebrating !

LostSoul69 · 08/06/2019 04:52

@Innisfree there is never a need to worry in Scotland for CE unless ‘going south’ & even then the top 3 prep schools, Ard, Carg & Bel know what they are doing. No Scottish school can afford to turn down a boarder and it is getting more like that south too. Art Scholarship is a def given for a place, well done and enjoy the summer. It is so exciting preparing for senior school, my DS1 has just finished GCSE but CE feels like yesterday x

When do you expect to get your DC's results?

Innisfree · 10/06/2019 18:55

DS will get them at camp on Friday and he’ll be able to tell me on Friday night when he gets back! It’s a well worn tradition at his prep.

Friday here too (although earlier if any issues)

Motorcyclemptiness · 12/06/2019 20:02

We will hear Fri or Sat too, but DC at trad prep with no half term til post CE, so won't get results at school. Wish I had found this thread before- nearly everything on Secondary Ed board revolves around 11+ for insanely competitive London schools.

My DC and cohort are told if they have passed on Friday when at their residential - most of them go to the same school and about 10% to one other, but annoyingly we don't get their grades until Monday. Irriating as a friend with a boy at a neighboring prep who is going to the same big school will get his on Thursday.
I'd have quite liked to have been able to draw a line under the whole affair this weekend.

Innisfree · 13/06/2019 17:17

Just saw on Twitter some head of a London prep had told his form 8 cohort their results today. This is making me pace the floor..

We are waiting too and won't find out until Monday.. Its going to be a long wait..

DogsandBoysmeanMud · 13/06/2019 18:35

They all pass, they always do!! No school is going to let a years school fees go. They are all in, I PROMISE!!!

Innisfree · 13/06/2019 18:38

I'm more just wanting to see how DS did grades wise tbh.

Results started coming to schools yesterday. We had some today, some yesterday and two schools outstanding.

No one fails, don’t worry!

Innisfree · 15/06/2019 05:54

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday or isn’t finding the wait until Monday too hard. DS is delighted with his results, and all his cohort passed and got into their senior school of choice (16 different schools) Lots of happy tired children last night after camp!
