Our catchment secondary (and other local ones) either aren’t great or the entry is a lottery. Better schools would require a house move to a more expensive area (and the house price difference is roughly what fees would cost us). DS is clever but not particularly academically driven, and easily distracted. The nearest independent secondary is Wrekin College but I don’t know anyone who has children there who could give me a feel for the place. Can anyone give me their pros/cons?
