Independent Boys Day School

Hi there

I'm all very new to the forums world so please excuse me if I get any of the etiquette wrong.

I live in the Bucks area, it's an 11+ haven. I am looking at lots of different school options for my son as trying to get myself organised. He's only in Year 4 at the moment and am looking for Year 7 entry. Could anyone recommend any independent day schools for boys in and around Bucks. Always happy to explore co-ed too. I've also noticed that there are schools with day and boarding elements but I worry that if you are a day student, the social experience won't be so positive?

Where in Bucks? Berkhamsted is a popular choice with buses coming from all over.

Thorpe House is great for pastoral but suffers a bit from a reputation of being the school you go to if you don’t pass the 11+.

Also have a look at Shiplake - about a third board but that includes weekly boarders so day boys get the benefit of everything boarding offers but don’t miss out by not boarding.

Or if he’s bright and you’re close to the Met line then there’s Merchant Taylor’s.

Abingdon School has bus routes from the western side of Bucks.
