Which council to call for waiting lists

Just being lazy and trying to save myself some time tomorrow - I’m really busy at work but need to call and get wait list info before I start an appeal...
Do I call my council, or the council of the borough the school is in?

Thanks!

You should call the LA where the school is. It is possible , given that most LAs take 2 to 3 weeks to assess who has accepted places and who has not, that there is no waiting list at this moment but they will be out soon.
Please make sure that you have informed the LA involved that you do want to be on the waiting list as sometimes where you are dealing with LAs the message does not get to the right place.

Thanks - will do. This is Camden where quite a bit of info seems to be out there already so I think they’ll have something. Then the other waiting list is in Haringey so will call them separately...

Camden say they keep you need waiting list of all borough schools. What are you hoping for?

Camden waiting lists have only moved downwards (i.e. with late applicants/ people asking to be put on extra waiting lists etc) as of Friday; was told then that there won't be any movement upwards until after 2nd round of offers go out this week. But yes Camden admissions are very helpful and should tell you your place. IIRC from previous threads here, Haringey usually won't usually give out waiting list info until after 2nd round, but don't take my word for it!

Thanks. Looking for AB (son is mildly autistic which is usually fine and doesn't need support, but he has sensory issues with clothing and really desperately hoping for a non-uniform school...), will need to go down the appeal route but would be good to know about list position as well. We aren't a long way outside the furthest distance...

Ah right - we'd like there too - but are a long way out......good luck - you have a strong case for there, I should think.

@Zinnia - that is miserable news! I wish I could see who wants where and who is moving from where to where. Just be so interesting to know.

@JC4PMPLZ the nice lady I spoke to on Friday (how they keep their patience at this time of year is beyond me...) did say things move a lot after 2nd round. I imagine the network of school preferences is like the world's most complex spider diagram!
