My son has applied for Sport Scholarship. What should he expect on the assessment day? Can anyone help?

Call the school and find out. The registrar will be able to tell you. Each school will be different bit usually along the of-

  1. Playing all team sports ie rugby, cricket, hockey
  2. Swimming
  3. Bleep test
  4. Athletics

Depends if its all round sport or specific.
At secondary level most schools are looking for a child who plays at County Level in at least one sport. They want someone who excels

Good Luck

Yes definitely a bleep test, presumably a reference from whatever club he plays his sport for or current sports teacher. An assessment in his sport.

Thanks for the information.

Tested on the sports your DC has put down as their main sport/s - my son was tested in cricket and rugby. He also had fitness tests in a group - anything from standing long jump, grip strength, sprints, etc. He had an informal interviews and they played general team games as a warm up (I think dodge ball types of games). They also get a sports report from the current school.
