UTCs schools in London

Hi,

My DS hates the school he’s at the moment so we have applied for a UTC in central London. There will be the commuting and he is aware off this. Luckily we are 1 train away if the trains work properly.
I have read reviews about UTC and some are good and others terrible.
Does anyone know someone or have kids studying in one?
We visit the school and it looked good. Also because the school is so new, they don’t have a offeset report yet so I can’t use it as a guide.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you

I would read the report on UTC's published about a month ago by the Education Policy Institute which will give you a good overview.

3 UTC's have closed in London so far - Hackney, Tottenham & Royal Greenwich - all lasting 2/3 years. All had lush buildings!

I believe two new UTC's opened in London in 2017 and they both appear to be significantly underscribed on pupil numbers for their first year if you look at DfE GIAS site (Get information about schools).

There are a few other UTC's still open in London who do have GCSE/Alevel results so again might be worth checking those out.
Hope that helps
