Can someone able to help me to decide between Bolingbroke and Saint Cecilia? DD is relatively academic and have interest in music and drama. We are in the feeder school for Bolingbroke and live very close to that school. We visited the school and liked it in general, in particular that they set classes for math/English and science, school looked dynamic and head teacher is enthusiastic, good drama and music department, highest GCSE results from non selective Wandsworth schools. Also know some parents who are very happy with the school. However, the space looks limited, apparently they go to Wandsworth common during break without teachers and not much emphasis on sport. Were not sure about pastoral care. Also sometimes we come across some pupils from Bolingbrook 'hanging out' in Clapham Junction with perhaps questionable behaviour.
We live train journey from St. Cecilia but our DD set a music test and is likely to get a music scholar place based on her score. We liked the school and facilities , also pastoral care looked better. Our DD preferred it to Bolingbroke and the only downside for her is that she would not know anyone from that school (as opposite to Bolingbroke where should would know many children). She would benefit from being a music scholar. What we did not like about St. Cecilia is that they do not set classed until year 10 (so not sure if she would be pushed enough academically), there is an interim head (so looking for a new head so there is uncertainty on who they would get) and school also going to expand in the next 2 years, with building work being on site and school will expand. We also do not know anyone from St. Cecilia so can not get first hand experience.
Any insights on how to chose, especially from Saint Cecilia parents?
Thank you very much
