Hi is anyone in the world of managed moves, I have a child whom I removed from his school due to issues fine school excepted my request to off role him. I then applied for a new school went on waiting list to be given a place under in year admissions to a school I wanted. A month after offer they now want to do a managed move and have gone ahead without my consent to do this... I'm very confused as he was not on role at old school I have email to prove this but now a managed move is being forced... any help welcome.

Thanks everyone, The story is the Academy did not follow the legal requirement to off role a child from their school. This made them have to put him back on. I don't feel this is a lawful action as we have applied via in year recieved an offer with a place their. Now we are fighting a dishonest head, I feel this action is to protect the Academy as it had issues, now I'm told under fair proticol they can do via a managed move which over rides my in year offer??? What are they protecting the fact the head did something unlawful should make them honour the offer, not protect him. This Academy is pulling all the strings and everyone is jumping for them... I'm confused

So when you informed the school, they didn't remove him?

This issue has arrived as the Academy did not follow the legal requirements to off Roll a child. I signed a letter he excepted my removal of my son, he informed LA but refused to send in evidence properly as it was a scribble on my part, the issue for me is after the argument with the academy the next day on advise from new school a managed move would be faster to get my son back in school as in year could take some time as you had to go on waiting list. I emailed the Academy asking for this and they told me no he is no longer on role. So as of the 17 July my son was on home ED. Well I had no idea how long we would wait but not long as two weeks into term new school informed they had a space, we excepted this offer, they contacted academy for papers who then sent a letter saying oh he is on role here, so we recommend a managed move, now the problem, he informed LA He signed the In year application for admissions also on this form he put child no longer on role. To me my son was no longer on role but because he failed his job they put him back on role and want to force a managed move under fair protocol, but this can't be used to circumvent the normal in year which is what our offer was. This is a battle.

I removed my son from school not because we had issues but what my son purchased at school in class a training butterfly knife...

No, a managed move does not override your in-year offer. And even if the academy did not remove your son from the roll that doesn't make it a managed move. Also, the Fair Access Protocol is irrelevant. As both Admission and I have said, you should ignore the managed move stuff. Contact the new school, tell them you have accepted the offer and your son will start on Wednesday.

Hello to all that offered help, I thank you all.
Today I recieved the best news, my son got his school placement today, and not under a managed move. My case was a battle but I decided to challenge at all levels and it was clear a managed move was not correct procedure. So his offer was in year. Thanks to all the offered ideas and things it was very helpful. I'm glad my son has a new start. With all help from kind people like yourselfs Thank you from a grateful mum

Really glad to hear that. Until this year, I wouldn't have believed what academies try to get away with. So glad you have got it sorted and hope it all goes well from now on.
