Should I look at Dulwich schools?

DD is bright, very, very sporty and has a particularly sporting interest out of school which takes up a lot of time and will continue when she starts secondary school in 2020. Without being too specific, the sport is west London based, and no option to move. With this in mind, I had discounted Dulwich schools, ie Alleyns and JAGS on the basis that there are other amazing schools (LEH, Putney High, Surbiton etc) that would be a much better fit in terms of not adding yet more time to her commute and getting to her sport.

But I’m wondering if it’s silly to discount these schools on this basis? What do you think?

I think you are sensible to discount Dulwich schools on the grounds of a long commute, especially as your daughter has other activities closer to home.

No, JAGS and Alleyns aren't the be all and end all of private schools in London. Dulwich is clogged up enough with coaches as it is. I can't begin to understand why you would even consider sending your child to school on the other side of London.

Hi whichschool - I posted a v similar question earlier today (except DD is not sporty). I was more concerned about the travel time from SW London. Was planning to go to the JAGS open day tomorrow but have decided against it.
As you say, lots of options closer to home. Good luck.
