Tassomai or mygcse science?

Looking for a useful revision/learning aid for chemistry and biology and would appreciate any feedback on the above sites. Thanks.

Tried them both a few years back:

Tassomai is an interesting families version of online flash cards. I think DS got 30% of the way through but it's relentless and easy to fall behind on.

MyGCSE didn't seem to have many practice questions. The videos were good but these days you get great science videos on You Tube by Freesciencelessons, Primrose Kitten and Science with Hazel

We loved Save My Exams. Exam questions sorted by topics. This was an amazing resource at a great price.

I liked Tassomai a lot. It drilled in the info. It is like flash cards but there are a lot of them and it's bad enough having to revise for the exam as a student without finding a family member who is willing to out in 200+ hours of asking you questions from flashcards.

Tassomai are changing their algorithms this summer to address some of the problems in it being so hard to progress. I don't know what that will mean in terms of user experience.

My son used tassomai last year for triple science and found it useful. He did manage to keep up with it. We got it at a reduced price through school.

My ds used tassomai and found it really useful

Bumping in light of GCSE results this week.
Also a couple of questions, with tasomai when would be the best time to start and does the fact that it's multiple choice give a false sense of security sometimes?

I'm also a massive fan of Tassomai ...DD had A,B and C in her mocks in January (although she didnt revise that well) We only started using Tassomai at the start of April and just began with Biology - she spent at least 1hr most days on Tassomai (use in car etc on phone)...quickly worked through Biology (fully completed just before 1st exam) we purchased Chemistry and Physics about 3 weeks after she started Biology because all three together would have felt too overwhelming....she didnt finish Chemistry or Physics (probably 70%) but it was enough to get DD the grades.

The multiple choice just consolidates their learning - they will be asked the same sort of question 4/5 times and it will keep on coming back to the same question unless they have answered it correctly 4/5 times..but the questions are spaced out (so topics change but come back to the same topic a bit later on).

DD would probably state that it was excellent for Biology, really good for Chemistry but not quite so good for Physics because of the nature of Physics.

Am I pleased we used Tassomai - Yes A A and an A. (results well above grade boundaries too) IGCSE

My dc is doing igcse biology and chemistry but is home edded so we don't have any predicted grades, we are winging it somewhat.
Perhaps an after Christmas start then if we go ahead with it.

3X9 using Tassomai here.

DH was very hesitant about it in May and June. He asked me several times if I was encouraging DS to use it too much at the expense of conventional revision, given that it's just multiple choice and the exam is not. When DS got his results, the first thing DH said to me was
"Tassomai".

DS swears by freesciencelessons on YouTube for anything that you don't understand and then Tassomai for practice until there is perfect recall.

Yes I'm a bit like your dh re the exam not being multiple choice.
Funds are limited so I have to choose carefully.
