How are your year 6's getting on with their induction days?

Ds is on his second day today. Yesterday he met his form tutor and did English, geography and PE. He said it was ok and he liked his form tutor but he hasn't made friends yet (although he says everyone else has). He loved the canteen!

He has been looking forward to today as it's a bath bomb project where they make a business in groups and make their own bath bombs then design packaging. Hopefully he will be chatting to people doing this which may help. He has aspergers and it took him 3 years to start making friends at primary so I'm a bit nervous about how he'll get on.

How is everyone's dc getting on?

Our single induction day is not until next Tuesday...

Mine has had two days and seems to have really enjoyed them, although he 'can't remember' what he did at either! (When pressed, he grudgingly recalled that they had played rugby outside in a thunderstorm...so, you know, nothing memorable!) All but three of his class are moving up together so he's mostly just stuck with them and not chatted much to anyone new, but I'm really hoping he'll make some new friends because he's been at the same tiny single-intake primary since Reception and they're all sick of each other!

Just one here and DD has been to hers. She loved it. It's a girls school and that's made it all quite new for her coming from mixed state.

She loved it though. 3 of her friends going too so was always going to be a fairly easy transition. This secondary is going to be a lot smaller than her primary which has nearly 1000 kids.

Just a half day transition day today! dropped DS off and he looked slightly nervous but I think he'll be fine! Quite a local school so he'll know some older kids and a few from his primary

DD had hers on Tuesday, it was mostly to get to know the forms teacher, get a feeling of the buildings and to get to know each other, no formal lessons.

She has two girls from her school in her new class but none of them are friends so she starts from scratch, came home with some phone numbers and gave hers to some girls.

They did lots of “get to know you “ games and DD really loved the lunch. Oh, and she came home with Summer homework.

Just collected my DD from hers today (1 day today and 1 day in the school in September with just year 7) and she said it went well and she made a friend with a girl who was nice.

She was absolutely dreading it so this is all good news!

Dd1 had her first day today, and seemed to really enjoy it! She's looking forward to her second day tomorrow.
Shes only moving to this school with two others from primary but is in form with one of them which makes it a bit easier for her.
