Burgess Hill Girls?

We're thinking of moving to Burgess Hill so that I can commute into Victoria, afford a 3 bed house (our budget is up to 450K) and possibly send our daughter to Burgess Hill Girls at age 7 or 11.

There are some old threads about Burgess Hill and the girls school but I would love to hear from anyone who knows the school or the town.
In particular, how would it compare to somewhere like Blackheath or Bromley High, is the town a pleasant place to live etc?

The school is good if you like single sex education, many girls are very happy there. The town is boring, the town centre has nothing much in it and no quirky or cafe culture.
The south end of BH near the school you mention is the nicer end.
Haywards Heath is a more interesting town (bigger, bit more to do) and not far from the school.

Have you considered Billingshurst? It is on a train line that goes to Victoria, the town is much nicer than BH and the state secondary is good. If you want private then you are not far from Farlington Girls.

No experience of the school, but the town isn’t great. Haywards Heath is much nicer and a slightly quicker commute too.

I'm guessing Haywards Heath has improved since I left? And Burgess Hill is awful :(

I did the London to Brighton cycle ride and not much has changed in Haywards Heath!

Firsttimedad79 not sure if it's improved- it's just better than BH!

Well I grew up on Wilmington Way, so only know the rough end!

Billingshurst And surrounding areas are lovely and Farlington is a great school . I don't know BH school but the town isn't that great . Outskirts are nicer but you may need more than £450 k for that ..
Maybe look at Horsham or Broadbridge Heath as that's nearer Farlington and you could commute from Horsham or Christ's hospital station .

Thanks, all - I'll keep investigating!

Wilmington way! That brings back memories...

BH is dull but ok. HH slightly less dull and more trains stop there

@MissWimpyDimple I revisited that area a couple of years ago, I can't believe how different it is now!
