Appeals - no school/admissions authority statement yet

I've put in an appeal for a secondary school place for September 2018. The guidance says that I should have the school's statement/admissions authority statement at least a week beforehand and it is (allegedly!) on it's way - but it's late.

Is this likely to cause a problem? I certainly haven't asked for a postponement but I'm not the only one affected so I'm hoping not!

The Appeals Code only says that this information along with the other papers for the hearing must be sent to you a reasonable time before the date of the hearing. It doesn't specify what constitutes a reasonable time. It is unlikely the fact you haven't received the information will cause any problems provided it turns up soon.

As long as the information gives you enough time to read through it and then check out anything that they are saying that you did not know about, that is enough time. And as PRH says the guidance is very fuzzy on time to have the documents.
Much more potentially worrying is if there are a lot of appeals as the appeals panel need to have read through every one of the appeal documents before the appeal starts. If they do not think that they have had enough time, then they will adjourn the hearing until they have had time to read them all.

Thank you experts! I assume the panel have all the info they need in time, and it's just the appellants that receive the info a smidge later than the authority's guidance mentions (although I didn't even think of the panel tbh). I think it's enough time, but I don't want to postpone the appeal so I'm hoping anyone else affected feels the same way.

Thanks again for the advice.
