Hello! DD and I are visiting a few boarding schools that she's considering for sixth form in the next few weeks, my DS went straight through the system (Scotland) and DD has been homeschooled for a few years so I'm not really sure what to look for. We've been told to stay for lunch in the canteen so that'll be a good way to get a feel for the school. I work in education so I think Ill be able to gauge if the schools a good learning environment, however have no experience of boarding or private school so are there any specific questions I should ask? Or things I should l should look for? One I've already been advised strongly on is how many boarders are in at weekends!
Also have a meeting with the SLT at some of the schools, what is this for?? Just for questions, or is it like an interview for DD, or for me?!
Also should i dress smart casual? I don't want to be underdressed if I'm meant to be in a suit and tie, but overdressed is just as bad! DDs going to go in an approximation of uniform, but I can't do that!
Thank you so much, I need a lot of handholding clearly!
