Perth/Central Scotland secondary school recommendations

I’m considering a move to the Perth area in Scotland. I have a not-very-academic (maths learning difficulties) child who will soon be fourteen.

Does anyone have any recommendations of good schools in the area please?

Are you looking for independent or state? If state do you definitely want to make a placing request? Or are you not sure where you're moving to yet?

I would consider either independent or state, though we couldn’t afford the likes of Glenalmond.

At the moment, the move isn’t certain. Catchment areas might be significant when and if we start looking for houses.

I have applied for a job in that area (I was asked to apply, and am well qualified for the position, therefore I believe there is a reasonable possibility that the application might be successful). If I get the job, things might move fast. We are currently outside the U.K., and therefore travel to the area is limited, I wanted to find out as much as possible beforehand.

Thanks.

Try asking in the Scotsnet topic - you might get more of a response.
