Choosing Options this year?

Just thought I'd start a thread to share opinions and ask questions/ advice on option choices.
Hoping it gets more than the few responses that individuals get.

Mine has to choose hers in April, I believe and will take 8

Compulsory: Music, Maths, Eng x 2, single Science, German or French, and a choice of History/ Geography or Art/Drama/Citizenship

and an extra subject of either French, or Double Science.

We had our options evening for my Year 8 DD over a week ago, and we chose:

Compulsory:
Eng Lang & Lit
Maths
Double Science - DD will do Triple fave subject
RS
PE GCSE / Recreational (no exam) - DD chose Recreational

Humanities Option
(Ancient History, History, Geography)
DD chose Geography

Language Option:
(French, German, Latin, Spanish)
DD chose German over Latin, even though she has had higher grades in Latin than Ferman since she started in Year 7

1st Free Option Block
(Art / Creative based subjects - Art, Fine Art, Photography, Drama, etc.)
DD chose Design & Technology

2nd Free Option Block
(Contained all of the languages, humanities & some of the creative subjects - plus Sociology, Psychology and Economics)
DD chose Economics

Ds2 in y8 has just put his form in with his choices.

GCSEs are 3 years long at his school.
