Ok, so fairly light hearted thread, but with a sliver of "Thank God" behind it.
DS16 is in year 11. He's reasonably bright, but lazy. He's good at talking the talk but doesn't follow through. He has never done revision ever, even though he says he wants to do A levels and go to university.
He has said he wanted a tutor recently and I agreed on the proviso that he had to engage and also revise.
So, parents evening onThursday where I had nine teachers all say the same thing: he's doing ok but could do better if he put some effect in.
Followed by his first tutor session yesterday which went really well.
Since then, we've done a revision timetable together, he he did the sessions timetabled yesterday and just came down to do the first of today's!
Early days and I don't know if he'll keep it up, but I have seen a maturity I've not seen in him before, so fingers crossed.
Sorry for the long post, but I'm just so bloody pleased.
