Brookfield Community Chesterfield or Lady Manners School Bakewell

I would very much value hearing from anyone who has a child at Lady Manners school in Bakewell, Derbyshire.

We are currently having to decide on our secondary school application for our son. We live close to Brookfield Community school in Chesterfield, which is 5 mins walk away. It has very similar results to Lasy Manners which is 12 miles away 20 minutes in the car/45 mins on a service bus. I know it must seem mad even considering it, but we were very taken by Lady Manners, it's ethos and values and it felt a very inclusive and happy school with very enthusiastic teachers. As a family we felt it was the 'best fit' for our boy.

The downside is that we are out and catchment and the travel time and distance. Has anyone got recent experience of either school? And does Lady Manners offer 'added value' in terms of justifying the much longer school day due to travel time?

Any advice would be very welcome. We just don't know what to do for the best.
