DD got an A in AQA drama, she was predicted an A star, but happy with an A because A2 drama theory marking is a unbelievably unpredictable.

The rest of her class all dropped 1-2 grades because of v low marks in the written, Es and Us for top students.

The school say that the board have got DD's paperwork wrong. Everyone else’s is fine. The school have questioned about hers as if it’s an indication of a general cock up. We’re stressing that it could go down and we haven’t given permission for a clerical review but they’ve contacted AQA anyway.

If it just a casual chat with the board, and not an official EAR could her mark go down, she's right on the borderline?

Please make sure the exams office is using the up to date guidelines - until this year grades would not go down on whole cohort reviews. That is no longer the case. I am having to get written permission from each candidate before I send off my review as there are obviously uni places at stake.

Even if they're not using the up-to-date guidelines, I am Grin I feel like I could get A* in the new re-mark rules.

She's off to perform in Edinburgh today with the drama department, so no escape until the end of next week.

Pestov do the board ask to see the permissions, or is it just to protect the school exam office legally?

Good idea to have put it in writing.

Ok, so all is well. the casual enquiry to AQA turned up...precisely nothing. The people in the class who seem to have been harshly marked are getting remarks and we're sailing off into the sunset...unless all their marks go up by 10%, which seems highly improbable.

Thanks for all your help.

That's good that there is nothing for you to worry about.

Well done to your Dd I feel strangely vilified on her behalf after the school were going around saying the mark was an admin mistake!
