When is a good time to start Tassomai?

Dd is going into Y10 and I am thinking of starting her on Tassomai. I was wondering if I should wait until Y11 to start it in case it becomes boring and demotivating over time? Any ideas from parents who have direct experience of the program?

My son started it in the run up to exams, at the end of Yr10.
He carried on a bit over the summer, which was a bit of a waste of money. He restarted at the start of Yr11 and carried on for most of the year.
In hindsight starting at the beginning of Yr11 might have worked better.
The team at Tassomai are very helpful and can tailor the course to your needs.
You could ask for a single month and see how your Dd gets on.

dd started chemistry at the end of year 10 then added in the other sciences & maths at the end of the y10 summer holidays. She managed to complete them all with a few weeks to spare.

It depends on what type of student and how they approach their revision.

If the student is a tortoise then the start of the autumn term of Y11.

If the student is a hare then the start of the spring term in Y11.

Do you think it significantly improved grades?

TheSecondOfHerName · 19/07/2017 05:32

It probably boosted him by 1 grade in each Science subject.

We didn't find out about Tassomai until 6 weeks before the exams, so he started late. He put in many hours of work but was only able to complete 50% of each course.

If he had started earlier and completed 100% of each course then the benefits may have been greater.

The second child won't need it (highly able in Science subjects) but I won't hesitate to use it for the third and/or fourth child if needed.
