My son is one of two DSs and about to go into year 5. Trying to work out what I have to do for next steps for school. I'm in London so likely to educate privately. But not really into all boys schools and not convinced they'll both get into an academic schools. We are north of the river and wondering about boarding... he's in a prep so they will prepare them but where on earth do I start... any schools people recommend who have personal views on... they all look amazing from the outside but how on earth do you decipher them?

If he's at a prep and already year 5, surely they will have give you some guidance?

What are your sons strengths and interests? Weekly or full boarding?

Does your prep go to 11 or 13?

Prep goes to 13 but I know parents debate is a lot around whether you need to leave at 11 or not which I don't want to do. (He's youngest in yr). He loves reading and good at maths. Athletic and likes running and martial arts but pretty average at team sports but does need to run off his energy. Loves dance and drama but never gets good parts or anything. I feel like in academic subjects he is top third but bottom of top 1/3 but a pretty academic prep.
Other problem is his brother is more creative, slower, sportier and less academic although bright and really want them to go to the same place!
