My Daughter gets harsh Detention

Today my eldest DD year 9 came home later from school than she usually would and when she got in I asked her why and she told me she had been at a 20 minute after school detention for burping in PE while playing netball in the gym. she was upset as she got sent out of the lesson and made to change back into her uniform for the rest of the lesson and copy from a textbook. I didn't know what to say to her to be honest she seems fine now she has calmed down . It sounds silly to me and ridiculous can a teacher do this ?

Given your original post Charlotte I hope it's a lesson learned for you too, not to judge the teacher without the facts.

My DD is now having time outs in PE if she feels angry the teacher has told her to quietly excuse herself for five minutes as the girl has kept bothering her and there was nearly a fight before half term and my DD had to be pulled away from the girl . I have also got the school to get her to do something that will help her she has a 1to 1 anger management class where she will be sitting with the tutor to discuss her anger issues and so she can vent frustrations in a calm and collective way

Shes on a hiding to nothing being so bloody rude and brattish. Hope you disciplined her at home for being so disgusting

She was her grades are good at school she has an anger issue we are addressing it . She has had an issue with this other girl School is sorting other girl has been sanctioned for things since that she has done my DD knows what to do now and knows if she takes it into her own hands she will be punished at school and at home
