Driving from Esher to Prior's Field School

HI I'm considering Prior's Field for my DD but I'm unsure about the feasibility of driving back and forth each day from Esher. I see the bus just does Friday nights and Sunday nights. I'm relocating to the UK so I'm a bit uncertain about what's viable.
Does anybody else do this drive? OR have any thoughts on this?

I'd say it's a bit far, and the traffic is likely to be horrid. If you are living in Esther why not look at Notre Dame? Or Tormead/GHS -easy access by train if you are in the right bit of Esther. Or ACS. Or St George's?

Agree - a bit too far - 45 minutes each way so 3 hours a day driving.
Perhaps consider Surbiton High (girls only from 11) or St Teresa's Effingham as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I am actually applying for Tormead and GHS as well. Just waiting g to see where my DD will be accepted. I'll definitely investigate St George's and Notrd Dam too.

The absolute worst bit would be the A3 past Guildford - where there is a jam at some point everyday (excluding Sunday's and Bank Holidays). It is fine for a weekly boarder, but not for everyday.

Lots of girls from Esher go to Manor House School, similar ethos to Priors Field but much smaller. New Head shaking things up, one to watch

DD goes to St Catherines Bramley and has friends your way. There is a school bus service from Guildford station each day. Also lots of other bus routes are run but not sure what these cover.

That is a long daily school run. Also bear in mind after school activities , parents' evenings, evening music and drama performances, weekend matches, socialising with friends who live the other direction. How old is dd? Do you need to live in Esher specifically? Maybe further down A3 would work better.

That sounds a long way! Mine are at school in Guildford, we don't live nearly as far out as you do and even that journey is grinding me down. Have you looked at St Theresa's in Effingham? It had a new head 2-3 years ago and seems to be really on the up.

If you love PF, could your daughter weekly board there instead?

I drive mine south then drive back into London - it's making me slightly nutty. I absolutely hate the commute, the petrol, the traffic jams, the increased mileage, increased car insurance costs. My whole day sometimes feels like a cab driver without compensation!

We are stuck like this for the short term but I wouldn't wish it on anyone and it's not a choice that I'd make if I felt I had any other choice.

Train to Godalming and then the School minibus to PField?

Shank there is no direct train from Esher to Godalming- would have to change at Guildford
