Neuroticwoman , CE is a set of exams across several subjects taken within a few days. Traditional private schools( think Eton, Kings Canterbury etc) use it as an entrance test for admission at 13+, but many now pretest so offer a place dependant on achieving a certain %, although as it is marked by the prospective school there is room for flexibility in the marking and the results are not necessarily consistent across all schools. Fewer schools require it now and our local prep school is dropping it for years 7 & 8.

Thank you LIZX. We are in South Wales so don't really have many independent schools or grammar schools.

Neuroticwoman · 15/06/2017 22:56

LIZS sorry
