Anyone got any insight into when the offer (or not!) letters go out from Surbiton High. DD did 11+, and it's her first choice, so the wait is becoming agonising! i heard there were 550 girls sitting this year - not sure how many places they will offer (including their 'over-offering')? Views, thoughts, or just continue drinking wine as have done since 6 Jan...?!

Also - anyone know how many classes for year 7 Surbiton will hAve for 2017?

Hello - we got offered a place and dd is going there in September. There is an open morning for new starters in mid June, at which point we will know the classes they are in (and therefore i guess, how many classes there will be). I will try to remember to repost back with the info! PS I do know of several from her school who got offers but aren't taking them up; but also several who are.

Richmondmum, belated reply to your question - DD's (state) school had four offers of which three accepted.

Hi Keepcalm, just wondering how many Year 7 classes in Sept 17 for SHS?

Richmondmumofthree · 16/06/2017 21:16

I was at the open day today and booklet says 8 year 7's.. that really is a lot! And classes of 23..!
Any comments? Don't the kids get lost in the system there?

4448daybreak · 16/06/2017 22:03

Gosh that is a lot, my dd said she had 2 new buddies starting in Sept but I couldn't believe they were going from 7 to 8 classes. Th current year nine is 8 classes, current year eight is 6 classes.

We missed the open day. Did they give any indication on class allocations or does that come later?

You need to ring admissions on Monday to get the pack sent to you unless you are visiting on an alternative date. Yes you get the full class list etc.

Richmondmumofthree · 17/06/2017 10:50

Yes they have allocated all the classes

Many thanks. I will contact the school next week.

Hello. We went to the new starters morning on Friday. I was very impressed by their organisation. There are 8 classes of 20 girls each (or certainly 20 in our class). The girls' class is their house too. The girls met their class mates and teachers, and us parents got contact lists for the parents in our daughters class which was useful. The classes are pulled together by area it seems - Kingston class, Teddington/Twickenham class etc. So that is also very handy for travelling to school. They seem to have lots planned to get the girls to make friends and mingle once they start, including the PGL type trip where they will have 4 classes going for Mon-Weds, and 4 classes going from Wed to Friday. Anyway, there is a good little booklet with lots of information and if you email Admissions they will also provide you with excel spreadsheet of your class parent contacts. I was impressed overall and my daughter beyond excited!
