Homeschooling IGCSEs and GCSEs from abroad?

Hi there!

My name's Laila, I'm a British expat in Amman, Jordan, and new to mumsnet.

We're considering homeschooling DD and it will be our first time homeschooling.

I'd love to hear from anyone who's homeschooled iGCSEs/GCSEs from abroad in the last year.

How did you do it? I'm feeling daunted by the idea as I've never homeschooled before, but I'm also excited for DD as this paves the way for future opportunities etc.

Many Thanks in advance for any and all help!

L

I believe there is home ed section on MN you might be better to post on there.
You might be interested to know that five years ago I was invited to observe a group of home educated children, none of the children did (I)GCSEs or A levels all did the Open University foundations courses in science, "the Arts" and I believe a language, all went onto to top RG universities and 1 to Oxbridge. The parents said the OU courses were much better as they were obviously meant to be followed at home and much more interesting and challenging.

Thank you for your reply, I'll copy my post onto the home ed section.

We're exploring all available options and will keep that in mind.

Thanks again!
