LEH School Waiting List 😢😔😢

sunshine1975 · 18/02/2016 23:15

My daughter is on the waiting list at LEH senior. It is her first choice School and she love the school so much. I am new to this whole process and wondered if this was a good thing or whether I shouldn't raise my hopes. Does anybody have any insight into how successful this is, or even how long they make the list as they are not advising where we are on the list.

What we need is just to be a patient and finger cross.

Just chiming in with the others about talking up definite offers. We thought we'd get offered a place off wait list last year - school was quite confident right up until they realised that more had said 'yes' then they expected. In previous years she would have got offered a place...but things change!

Luckily we'd not got DD hopes up but I found it hard as was keen. Has turned out well in any event and DD very happy at her school.

Best to be super positive about actual choices so the message is all 'well done' rather than leaving her with the feeling of... 'if only you'd done a little better'.

My hope some time will go very high and some time will accept what we have, will call the school and see how it going with waiting list and if there is a chance or not till the end of offer day. Then the reality will say the last word.

Does anyone know how much the waiting list moved for LEH the last few years after the national offer day? And how many places were offered from waiting lists last couple of years?

sunshine1975 · 01/03/2016 10:58

DiDi0105 I called the school LEH and they said they don't have any idea about the free places until the did line within the next week.

TeddTess · 01/03/2016 12:58

yes bright girls ime sit:
LEH and GHS for Hampton Court, Esher, Claygate
LEH and WHS (& Tiffin) for Wimbledon, Kingston
LEH, SPGS & G&L for Richmond/west London
LEH (& Waldegrave) for Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington

would be typical

sunshine1975 · 01/03/2016 13:11

TeddTess The girls if they get Tiffin are they going to drop out LEH??

OP posts:
Greengagesummer · 01/03/2016 13:26

It's not straight forward but many girls who get Tiffin do drop LEH. Not always...

DiDi0105 · 01/03/2016 13:27

Thanks sunshine1975. I called too and was given the same response. Frustrating.

TeddTess · 01/03/2016 14:37

no not at all
some do
but many won't take Tiffin over LEH

sunshine1975 · 02/03/2016 21:43

The waiting list is already moving. Someone on another thread here ( GHS or LEH?) was offered a place today . You may find some LEH juniors shifting around now too, though even though they may have other options (state and/or private) they don't actually have to give notice until after the Easter holiday. (I.e one terms notice). Though the school do poll parents regularly to gauge an active picture of the anticipated movement each year.

sunshine1975 · 02/03/2016 22:16

agapanthii it is really frustrating,

TeddTess · 03/03/2016 15:20

yes they did you're not listening!
look at the "LEH or GHS" thread

Niquitic · 07/03/2016 14:40

Hope everyone gets the news they want.

Mumofthree1976 · 08/03/2016 15:07

Both G&L and LEH have moved to their waiting lists as I know three girls who were called earlier this week. So get on the phone to LEH and let them know that you will definitely be taking the place if offered to you. It is one of those things that if they still have the place and know you will take it up right away, they are more likely to offer it. Good luck and hope it goes well for your DD.

I know someone who rejected LEH in favour of a boarding school. Hope that helps.
