Dd's in Y8 and loves school. She's doing well academically and has a lovely group of friends. However she's been suffering from very painful joints since last summer and at times is so sore she can't cope with school. She's getting very anxious about the amount of time she's missing as well as frustrated by not being able to take part in PE (she's normally very sporty). Has anyone else's child experienced something similar and how have they coped? She's seeing the consultant in a couple of weeks so we're hoping we might get some answers as to what's causing the problem but I suspect it's not going to be something with a quick fix Sad

You are doing the right thing in seeing a consultant. I would have thought that until you have a definitive diagnosis it is impossible for eihter you or your DD to know what how best to manage the situation.
Good luck I hope she quickly gets better. Flowers
