Oh bugger. An A-level grumble.

Can I have a wee parental grumble here? It's all very well letting children grow up and take responsibility for their own decisions and all the rest of it. But DS has just come home from the first day back at his 6th form and told us that he has dropped a subject he got an A in at AS, in favour of one in which he got a C.

That's not filling me with hope for the coming year, really.

Kitties - my DD is a member of a national youth ensemble - it really is irrelevant as far as A level is concerned. Saturday conservatoire classes are much more useful though.

Thanks for reassurance! Not sure there are any conservatoires within reach (or that they'd welcome DS's rather niche instrument) but I'll have a look.

I think if he is determined he will pull through. It is much more work in year 12 and he HAS TO keep on top of it.
